چکیده
Twenty-six adult patients were studied by coimbined right and left heart catheterization to define or further to quantitate valvular defects suspected on clinical grounds. Right heart catheterization was accomplished in the usual fashion from an antecubital vein and the left heart was studied by combined transseptal left atrial and retrograde left ventricular catheterization.4 By use of these methods the presence or absence of a diastolic gradient across the mitral valve could be determined from the simultaneous left atrial and left ventricular pressure pulses. To determine the presence of mitral insufficiency, 1.5 ml. of a 500 mig. per cent solution of indocyanine dye was injected into the left ventricle while blood was being continuously drawn from the left atrium through a densitometerl coupled to a photographic recordert A deflection that occurred within 6 seconds of injection was considered evidence of mitral

Hemodynamic Alterations Induced by Isoproterenol and Pacing After Aortic Valve Replacement with the Bjork-Shiley or St. Jude Medical Prosthesis
Stress evaluation was carried out in 26 patients approximately 7 months after aortic valve replacement with Bjork-Shiley valves (13 patients) and St. Jude medical valves (13 patients). During isoproterenol infusion (0.3 gg/kg/min), cardiac output increased by a factor of 1.5 and aortic valve area decreased by 50% for both valve groups, while transvalvular gradients (rest: 7 ± 2 vs 10 ± 5 mm Hg,...
متن کاملBiochemical analysis and electron microscopy of human mitral valve collagen in patients with various etiologies of mitral valve diseases.
Biochemical analyses and electron microscopy of mitral valve collagen were carried out in 29 patients with various mitral valve diseases. They were divided into 3 groups: (1) rheumatic heart disease (15 patients), (2) isolated rupture of chordae tendineae (8 patients), and (3) floppy mitral valve (6 patients). Normal mitral valves obtained at necropsy from 6 patients who died from extracardiac ...
متن کاملPregnancy Outcome with Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Method in a Woman with Prosthetic Heart Valves
There is an increased risk of thromboembolism, anticoagulant-related hemorrhage, fetal-wastage and congestive cardiac failure in pregnant women with mechanical heart valves. In order to have a good outcome, the care of such patients must necessarily be multidisciplinary and in a well- equipped centre with adequate support services .One such patient who had mechanical mitral and aortic valves re...

متن کاملComplications after dipyridamole infusion in myocardial perfusion SPECT and correlation with homodynamic changes [Persian]
Introduction: In Iran dipyridamole is the main agent used for coronary dilatation before myocardial perfusion SPECT. This study tries to evaluate the side effects after dipyridamole infusion and its relation with hemodynamic changes. Methods: We studied 300 patients who referred to myocardial perfusion scan. The exclusion criteria were: 1) AV block degree 2 or more, 2) Asthma 3) Sick sinu...
